The Yoga House Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking or attending any class, course, workshop or event at The Yoga House. By booking or attending our classes, workshops, courses or events, whether through our website, Bookwhen or directly with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

The Yoga House is the trading name of The Yoga House (Leeds) Limited, Company Number 12487651.

  1. General

The Yoga House aims to provide a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

Equipment will be provided for classes, and you are welcome to bring your own equipment if you prefer.

The easiest way to reserve your place is through our online booking system via Bookwhen. If you need assistance with booking, please contact us at info@theyogahouseleeds.co.uk.

Each customer must register with their own email address when creating a booking account.

We may occasionally contact you about your bookings or important information relating to our services – please ensure you provide your email address and phone number in case we need to contact you regarding class cancellations. Marketing emails, newsletters and promotional communications will only be sent where you have chosen to receive them. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

  1. Bookings and Payment

All classes, workshops and courses should be booked in advance wherever possible.

Payment may be made online by debit or credit card through Bookwhen. Where we agree, payment may also be made in person before class. Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received or alternative payment arrangements have been agreed.

  1. Class Passes

Class passes are valid for the period stated at the time of purchase.

Unless otherwise stated, a 10-class pass expires 90 days after the date of the first class attended.

Unused classes remaining after the expiry date cannot be used. Class passes are for use only by the person who purchased them unless we have agreed otherwise.

  1. Customer Cancellations and Transfers

If you are unable to attend a booked class, you may transfer your booking to another available class up to 12 hours before the scheduled start time using your Bookwhen confirmation email.

Transfers requested after this time will not be possible and the class will be deducted from your class pass or charged in full.

Workshops, courses and special events may be transferred to another available date if you notify us at least 5 days before the scheduled start date.

Transfers requested after this time will not be possible and you will be charged in full.

  1. Studio Cancellations

Occasionally we may need to cancel or reschedule a class, workshop or course due to illness, instructor availability, low class numbers or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We will always aim to give as much notice as possible.

Where we cancel a class, you will be offered either:

  • a replacement class;
  • a credit to your account; or
  • where appropriate, a refund.

If we cancel an entire course or workshop and cannot offer a suitable alternative, you will receive a refund for any unused sessions.

  1. Refunds

We aim to operate a fair cancellation policy.

Except where these Terms state otherwise, bookings are non-refundable because spaces are reserved specifically for you.

However, nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your statutory rights.

  1. Consumer Cancellation Rights

Where you book online, consumer cancellation rights may apply under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

By booking a class or course that begins within the statutory cancellation period, you expressly request that we begin providing the service before that period expires.

Once a class has been fully delivered, your statutory right to cancel that class will no longer apply.

Nothing in these Terms affects any rights you have under applicable consumer law.

  1. Instructors

Classes and workshops are led by different self-employed instructors and facilitators. While we aim to provide classes with the advertised instructor, the instructor reserves the right to find a substitute where necessary without prior notice.

  1. Timetable

We make every effort to ensure classes begin on time and are delivered as advertised.

Occasionally we may need to change instructors, class times or the timetable.

Any significant changes will be communicated as soon as reasonably possible.

  1. Arrival and Late Entry

Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your class begins.

For the safety and comfort of all participants and to limit class disruptions, the studio door will be locked once class has started. Late entry will therefore not be possible.

  1. Health and Safety

Yoga and Pilates involve physical activity. You are responsible for practising within your own abilities.

Before attending class you should inform your instructor of any injury, medical condition, recent surgery, pregnancy or other circumstance that may affect your participation.

If you have any medical concerns about taking part in a class, we recommend seeking advice from an appropriate healthcare professional before attending.

You should wear suitable clothing that allows safe and comfortable movement.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere inside the studio.

Students must not obstruct emergency exits and should follow teacher instructions in the event of an emergency.

For hygiene reasons, students with contagious foot conditions should wear appropriate foot coverings while moving around the studio.

  1. Children

Children aged 14 to 16 may attend adult classes only when accompanied by a responsible adult unless otherwise agreed by The Yoga House.

  1. Behaviour

We ask everyone to treat fellow students & teachers with courtesy and respect.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to, or ask a customer to leave, where this is reasonably necessary to:

  • protect the health, safety or wellbeing of others;
  • prevent disruptive or inappropriate behaviour;
  • enforce these Terms & Conditions; or
  • comply with legal obligations.

Where appropriate, we may suspend or terminate future bookings.

  1. Personal Belongings

Customers are responsible for their personal belongings while attending the studio.

The Yoga House does not accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal property unless this results from our negligence.

  1. Liability

While we take reasonable care to provide a safe environment, participation in yoga, Pilates, meditation and wellness workshops carry some inherent risk.

You agree to take part responsibly, follow your instructor’s guidance and work within your own physical limits.

  1. Data Protection

We process personal information in accordance with UK data protection law.

Details of how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information, including any health information you choose to provide, are set out in our separate Privacy Policy.

By providing health information relevant to your participation, you acknowledge that it will be used only for the purpose of helping us provide classes safely and appropriately.

  1. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Any changes will be published on our website and will apply to future bookings made after the revised Terms come into effect.

Changes will not affect bookings already made unless required by law or where both parties agree.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
