No previous yoga experience is required for this class. You will learn the foundations of yoga in a supportive, non-competitive environment, focusing on meditation, breathing techniques, poses and alignment. This class is designed to increase strength, flexibility and energy levels, and will provide you with the skills and confidence to try other classes on our timetable.
While this class is open level, some previous experience in yoga or fitness would be beneficial. A dynamic class linking postures together seamlessly in a flow-style sequence. Vinyasa yoga focuses on synchronising movement to breath; it can be described as a moving meditation which energises and steadies both mind and body. This class will gradually build up to warm the body, by flowing through postures to reach the peak of the class, before gently bringing you back down into Savasana (relaxation), you will leave this class feeling energised and relaxed.
This class is suitable for all levels. A series of mat-based workouts consisting of controlled exercises, designed to stretch and strengthen muscles, with emphasis on challenging the core and correcting posture and imbalances which lead to pain and tension. Whether you want to learn more about the Pilates method, have back pain, joint pain or want to improve the quality of your everyday movements, this class is perfect for you. You will leave this class feeling relaxed, restored and revived in both body and mind.
Get up + Glow
Get up and GLOW with this morning flow class. While this class is open level, some previous yoga experience would be beneficial. This class will gradually build up to warm the body, by flowing through postures to reach the peak of the class, before gently bringing you back down into Savasana (relaxation), you will leave this class feeling glowing, energised and ready to start the day ahead.
Yin Yang Flow
While this class is open level, some previous yoga experience would be beneficial.
A blend of two styles of yoga in one practice – the perfect balance of Yin and Yang. Expect to start with a more active practice working on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength and stamina with 30 minutes of Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Followed by 30 minutes of Yin Yoga, a slower practice where supine (lying down) poses are passively held for between 3-10 minutes, working on the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues and joints in the body, therefore improving flexibility. You will leave this class feeling calm and grounded.
Some experience in Vinyasa or Ashtanga is recommended for this class. A class for those who like a challenge and are looking to improve their fitness and overall body strength. Power Flow is a fitness-based approach to Vinyasa Flow; expect a faster paced flow-style sequence, which weaves in some more challenging postures, inversions and arm balances. The class will end with a lengthy stretch off and Savasana, leaving you feeling re-energised, centred and grounded.
This class is suitable for those new to yoga or those wanting a steady and gentle class. Great for arthritic joints and for those who need to take it that little bit slower. This class will focus on balancing, strengthening and stretching different muscle groups, whilst promoting deep relaxation. The first part of the class will be spent mobilising the joints and warming up the body. The second part will be spent seated or supine (lying down) using props, and will finish with a guided meditation to leave you feeling calm and centred.
Yoga for living with cancer
This class offers a safe haven for anyone who has been affected by cancer; whether that be recently diagnosed, in treatment, remission, palliative stages or in a supportive role. The class will be aided by props, and will teach you gentle exercises to stretch and strengthen your body, along with meditation and breathing techniques, to help improve relaxation, range of movement, sleep quality and energy. All we aim for is that you leave the studio feeling better than when you came in.
This class is suitable for all levels. Step out of the demands of modern-day stressful living and enjoy a beautiful sense of calm, as you slow down and open your body in our cosy candlelit studio. This class will involve holding supine (lying down) poses, fully supported by props, for between 8-12 minutes each. Focusing on activating your parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for resting and digesting, restoring easy breathing, lowering the heart rate and releasing tension in your body and mind. Prepare to be taken on a journey into a state of deep relaxation; you will leave this class feeling nourished, rested and recharged.
This class is suitable for all levels. A meditative, slow class that stretches the deeper muscles, joints and fascia in your body whilst quietening the mind. Yin yoga compliments a dynamic yoga practice by softening, letting go and allowing the breath to still the mind. The class will take you through a series of poses that are held for a substantial period of time, allowing your body release to gravity and be carried through by the slowing breath. By switching on the parasympathetic nervous system, this class will help reverse the effects of stress and cultivate a sense of relaxation and equanimity.
